Covid-19 School Re-opening Information‚Äč

February 18,2021

Kid Street Re-opening update:

There has been much information from media and press regarding the push for elementary schools to re-open.  Please be aware that Sonoma County is currently in the purple tier, meaning we still have widespread transmission of Covid-19. Kid Street does not plan to re-open the school before moving into the red tier.  Two weeks after the county moves down into the red tier, we will be allowed to open.  We are still working hard to put our re-opening procedures and safety measures in place before this can happen. This includes state required bi-weekly testing for staff AND students, and teacher vaccinations being completed, something that Kid Street is committed to seeing finished before re-opening. We are moving closer to this goal with the majority of our staff and teachers having already received their first dose!

The daily school schedule will not look the same as pre-pandemic.  It will be a hybrid schedule with the youngest students returning first.  The State of California requires that students are spaced 6 feet from one another throughout the day.  This is a challenging task, but one that we are working steadfastly to achieve. Information from the state and county is changing daily in regards to re-opening. We will all be required to demonstrate patience and flexibility as we make sure that our schools are safe for our children and our broader community.  In the meantime, we continue to work diligently to provide a stellar distance learning program with enrichment opportunities, "field trips", and social/emotional support for our students.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly with concerns or questions about your children!

The Governor's Safe Schools for All Plan (announced December 30, 2020) requires that Local Educational Agencies create a COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP). The CSP consists of two parts: (1) the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Program (CPP) and (2) the COVID-19 School Guidance Checklist.
