Enrolling at Kid Street

Applications for the 2019/2020 School Year starts in December of 2018. Applications are available online(below) and on site at our school.

In the meantime, make sure to get all the other paperwork in order(Birth Certificate, Immunization record, Dental/Oral Health Form and Physical).

Please review our FAQ's below to help answer any questions about enrollment.

Q: Are School Tours available?

A: Yes! Just call Angel @ 707-525-9223 x100 and she can schedule a one-on-one tour with you. An online video tour will be

available in the near future.

Q: I want to enroll my student, what paperwork do I need?

A: Please focus on completing the application, once that is turned in you can focus on the items listed below to complete enrollment.

-Copy of Birth Certificate. (Passport or Baptist Certificate is acceptable)

-A copy of completed immunization(shot) records.

-Dental/Oral Health exam by a dentist. Please see below in FORMS

-Physical by your general practitioner(required for 1st Grade and above).

-A Kid Street Enrollment Application. Please see below

Q: I want to enroll my student mid-year, is that possible?

A: Our school is a first come, first serve with enrollment. Although we have space in some of our classes, other classes do have waiting lists. Please call the school to see if there is space available.

Q: What do I need to do in order to be placed on the waiting list?

A: You must complete an enrollment application(which you can find below) and turn it in.

Q: I'm on the waiting list, now what?

A: Being on the waiting list doesn't mean that you are enrolled, always have a 2nd option set up in case a spot doesn't become available. The school will call you once a spot becomes available.

Q: How does the application process work?

A: We recommend that you schedule a tour(but not required), and turn in an application. Once your application has been accepted, we schedule a teacher interview with you and your student(s). At that point, we may ask for additional paperwork. Then you are given your start date if a space is open, or you will be told where you are on the wait list.

Q: Do I have to live in district?

A: No, charter schools are not bound by district lines. So no matter where you live, you can attend Kid Street.

Q: Does your school offer bus services?

A: No. Since we have students that come from all around the county, it would be very difficult to offer any bus services at this time.

Q: What are the fees for enrollment?

A: Kid Street is a Public Charter School, which means that we do not have any fee's for our programs.

Q: What is the cost for school meals?

A: All meals and school snacks are free for all students, regardless of income levels.

Q: What is the cost/fees for the After School Program (ASP) and/or Kinder Klub Program?

A: No cost/fee's! Both ASP and Kinder Klub programs are funded through ASES, a 2002 voter-approved initiative Prop 49, which gives schools funds to operate enrichment and education programs outside of the school day. Kid Street offers both programs free of charge to all students enrolled at the school, regardless of income level. Transitional Kindergartners and Kindergartners are able to stay for ASP as well.

Q: What are the operating times of the school and its programs?

A: School doors open at 7:30am, with Breakfast being served in the kitchen.

Classes start at 8:30am.

Wednesdays are minimum days, all students are released at 12:20pm.

Transitional Kindergarten dismissal is at 12:05 daily.

Kindergarten dismissal is at 1:30pm daily.

Grades 1st-6th dismissal is at 3:00pm daily.

After School Program runs from 3:00pm-6:00pm daily, and 1:00pm-6:00pm on Wednesdays.

Q: Does the school have a Maker's Program?

A: Yes! A majority of our Teachers are Maker's certificated, and most of our teachers are Maker's trained. Kid Street takes pride in being a STEAM focused school(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Our mission is to create space for all students to develop confidence, creativity, and interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, math, and learning as a whole through hands-on projects

and enrichment opportunities.

Q: Is there 7th and 8th Grade?

A: No, Kid Street Charter School has decided to discontinue the Middle School Pilot Program to focus on its Elementary Program.
